Dr. Aly Mohammed Nagy El – Makhzangy
Biography
Dr. Makhzangy earned a distinction MBBCh degree from Ain Shams University in Cairo, Egypt, in 1994. He then earned a Master’s degree in Ear, Nose, and Throat Surgery from the same University in 1999, completing a Master’s degree thesis on bacterial infections of the middle ear. He then earned a Medical Doctorate in Otorhinolaryngology from the same institution in 2004, following the examination and defense of a Medical Doctorate Thesis on larynx cancer (voice box). Dr. Makhzangy began his career at Ain Shams University Hospitals in 1995 as a house officer. He completed his residency training at the same institution’s Ear, Nose, and Throat department from 1996 to 1999. Following completion of his Master’s degree in 1999, he assisted faculty staff members as an Assistant Lecturer in teaching undergraduate medical students, training fellows and postgraduate students, and participating in meetings and conferences as a member of the organizing committee for the 17th World Congress of the International Federation of Otorhinolaryngologic Societies (IFOS) in Cairo in 2002. After earning his Medical Doctor degree in 2005, he joined the faculty as a full member, continuing his academic career as a supervisor of postgraduate students and instructor of undergraduates. He was appointed Associate Professor of Otorhinolaryngology in 2010 after publishing scientific articles on the various ear, nose, and throat diseases based on his research in reputable Egyptian and international scientific journals, including the European Archives of Otorhinolaryngology and Head & Neck. Dr. Makhzangy relocated to the United Arab Emirates in 2012, where he joined a private hospital in Abu Dhabi as an ENT Specialist. Dr. Makhzangy was promoted to Professor of Otorhinolaryngology at Ain Shams University’s Faculty of Medicine in 2016 for his continued outstanding work and presentations at national/regional and international scientific meetings, including the Second Asian Clinical Congress in Kyoto, Japan in 2014, where he gave a lecture on a specific type of dizziness caused by inner ear involvement and the results of various treatment methods for this condition. He is also a member of several prestigious organizations, including the Research Methodology Unit of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology at Ain Shams University’s Faculty of Medicine, the Egyptian Society of Otorhinolaryngology and Allied Sciences, the International Society for the History of Medicine, and the American Academy of Advancement of Science. Dr. Makhzangy has over two decades of work experience, the majority of which he gained through his practice.
