Dr. Arnold Plazid Thekakara is a Specialist in Anesthesia at Burjeel Hospital, Abu Dhabi. He obtained his MBBS in 2003 from Jubilee Mission Medical College, India and completed his MD in Anesthesiology from Kerala University of Health Sciences in 2013. Before moving to the UAE, Dr. Arnold Plazid Thekakara worked at a JCI-accredited tertiary care hospital in India. He also had specialized training in high-risk obstetric anesthesia and labor analgesia and pediatric regional anesthesia. In 2019, he was awarded the European Diploma in Regional Anesthesia & Pain Management (EDRA) by the European Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Therapy. Dr. Arnold Plazid Thekakara’s special areas of interest are continuous peripheral nerve block catheters, low-dose labor epidurals, segmental epidurals, high-risk anesthesia, point-of-care ultrasound, and perioperative pain management.
