Biography
Atta Ghassan, M.D. Atta Al Khaznaji earned his medical degree and MBChB from Al Nahrain University in Iraq in 1994. In 2002, the Iraqi Commission for Medical Specializations awarded him the Iraqi Board in Neurology (FICMS). Dr. Atta moved to the United Kingdom in 2005 and completed residency training in Neurosciences at Charing Cross Hospital, followed by Fellowships in Neurosciences and Neurological Rehabilitation at Queen’s Medical Center, Nottingham University Hospital and Nottingham City Hospital. Along with his medical practice at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery and Queen Square Hospital in London, he attended the Pediatric Neurology Clinic at Hammersmith Hospital in the United Kingdom, where he treated children with muscular dystrophies. Dr. Atta began his medical career in Iraq at various teaching hospitals. He then relocated to the United Arab Emirates in 2006 to continue practicing Neurology in private healthcare facilities in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Al Ain. He has served as a co-examiner and lecturer to undergraduate medical students specializing in Neurology and has attended numerous conferences in the United Kingdom, Cyprus, Egypt, Morocco, Syria, Iraq, and the United Arab Emirates. He is currently a Member of the Emirates Medical Association, the Emirates Neurology Society, the Iraqi Neurosciences Society, the Iraqi Epilepsy Association, the Iraqi Neurosciences Association, and the Iraq Medical Association. His experience includes stroke and transient ischemic attacks, epilepsy, spasticity disorders, multiple sclerosis, and chronic fatigue syndrome.
