Dr. Venkitachalam spent over 17 years as a Professor of Cardiology at Sree Chitra Institute of Medical Sciences and Technology in India before relocating to the United Arab Emirates. Before joining Burjeel Hospital, he spent over a decade practicing medicine in Abu Dhabi at a prestigious government medical institute. He has extensive experience managing all common acute and chronic cardiac conditions, with a special emphasis on patients with heart rhythm disorders, heart failure, and coronary heart disease. He is particularly interested in interventional cardiology, which includes coronary angiography, complex coronary angioplasty, stenting, and permanent pacemaker placement, as well as pediatric cardiology (diagnosis of congenital heart defects, performing diagnostic procedures such as echocardiograms, cardiac catheterizations and for the ongoing management of the sequelae of heart disease in infants, children, and adolescents). Dr. Venkitachalam served as an honorary visiting professor at Boston Children’s Hospital and directed a clinical research and education program.
