Dr. Omran Bedir Gatee
Biography
Dr. Omran Bedir Gatee earned his MBChB and DM in Internal Medicine from Baghdad University in Iraq in 1968 and 1974, respectively. He joined the Royal College of Physicians (United Kingdom) in 1977, was elected a Fellow in 1989, and was later elected a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (Glasgow) in 1995. Dr. Omran received a Certificate of Completion for Endocrinology, Diabetes Mellitus, and General (Internal) Medicine Specialist Training. He has clinical affiliations with a variety of government and private hospitals in Iraq, the United Kingdom, and the United Arab Emirates. He worked as a consultant physician in the United Kingdom for healthcare providers such as Bradford Royal Infirmary; Luton and Dunstable Hospital; and Derriford Hospital in Plymouth. Additionally, he worked as a consultant physician in general medicine, endocrinology, and diabetes at Maidstone Hospital, St. Mary’s Hospital on the Isle of Wight, and Stirling and Falkirk Hospitals NHS. Dr. Omran relocated to the United Arab Emirates in 2009 and continued his medical practice as a Consultant Physician in General Medicine, Endocrinology, and Diabetes in a number of private hospitals throughout Abu Dhabi. He has published numerous research papers on chest diseases, endocrine disorders, thyroid disease, and hormonal issues and has taught at several medical schools in the United Kingdom, including Guy’s, St. Thomas’s, and St. George’s. Internal medicine, endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolic diseases are among his areas of interest.
