Dr. Venkat Sainaresh Vellanki
Biography
Dr. Venkat is a firm believer that no opportunity, responsibility, or obligation is greater than being a physician. He believes that providing safe and effective health care requires structured training and extensive experience. He received formal training at various tertiary and quaternary health care institutions of distinction and was mentored by gifted clinicians and academicians in North America, who helped shape his clinical instincts and acumen. Dr. Venkat’s goal is to advocate for the patient’s cause and to alleviate suffering through his ability to analyze, adapt, and apply current evidence in his clinical practice. Dr. Venkat aspires to be an effective medical expert, an excellent communicator, a constant collaborator, a team leader, a health advocate, a scholar, and a professional who can meet each patient’s unique and challenging needs. He is meticulous, attentive, and committed, and he champions patients’ needs through empathy, assisting them in making the best decisions possible to achieve their care goals. Dr. Venkat Vellanki is approachable and believes in holistic medicine; he is always available when his patients need him the most, compassionately addressing their emotional needs and those of their loved ones. He received his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degrees from the University of Mysuru in India and completed his Senior Residency in Nephrology at the Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences, NIMS University in India. He earned a Doctor of Medicine (DM) in Nephrology from the Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS) in India and a Doctor of Medicine (MD) in Internal Medicine from Kasturba Medical College, Manipal University in India. Dr. Venkat has been awarded several Fellowships, including the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada-accredited Clinical Fellowship in Adult Nephrology at the University of Toronto in Toronto, Canada: and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada-accredited Clinical Fellowship in Pediatric Nephrology at the University of Toronto in Toronto, Canada. Adult Nephrology Fellowship, American Society of Transplantation (AST), Division of Multi-Organ Transplantation, Toronto General Hospital, University of Toronto, Toronto, Canada. In 2016, he earned his American Society of Hypertension/American Heart Association (ASH/AHA) Designated Specialist – Clinical Hypertension Certification. He is a Clinical Fellow of the University of Toronto’s Division of Nephrology and the University of Toronto’s Division of Multiorgan Transplantation. Dr. Venkat has worked in medicine for more than 15 years. He began his career as an Assistant Professor of Nephrology and Kidney Transplantation at the Institute of Kidney Diseases and Research Center of Gujarat University of Transplantation Sciences in India. Later, he was an Assistant Professor of Nephrology at SVIMS University Hospital in India. He later became an Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine with the Directorate of Medical Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh, India. He also worked as a Consultant Nephrologist at Manipal Hospitals in India and NMC Royal Hospital in Khalifa City, Abu Dhabi, before joining Burjeel Hospital.
