He received his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degrees from the University of Mysuru in India and completed his Senior Residency in Nephrology at the Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences, NIMS University in India. He earned a Doctor of Medicine (DM) in Nephrology from the Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS) in India and a Doctor of Medicine (MD) in Internal Medicine from Kasturba Medical College, Manipal University in India. In 2016, he earned his American Society of Hypertension/American Heart Association (ASH/AHA) Designated Specialist – Clinical Hypertension Certification. He is a Clinical Fellow of the University of Toronto’s Division of Nephrology and the University of Toronto’s Division of Multiorgan Transplantation. Dr. Venkat has worked in medicine for more than 15 years. He began his career as an Assistant Professor of Nephrology and Kidney Transplantation at the Institute of Kidney Diseases and Research Center of Gujarat University of Transplantation Sciences in India. Later, he was an Assistant Professor of Nephrology at SVIMS University Hospital in India. He later became an Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine with the Directorate of Medical Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh, India. He also worked as a Consultant Nephrologist at Manipal Hospitals in India and NMC Royal Hospital in Khalifa City, Abu Dhabi, before joining Burjeel Hospital.
