Dr. Hassan Siegfried Abou-Rebyeh
Biography
Prof. Dr. Hassan Siegfried Abou-Rebyeh took his Bachelor’s Degree (Study of Human Medicine) at Medical College, Free University, Berlin, Germany in 1980; his Ph.D. at the Institute of Infection and Microbiology of the same university in 1989; and then his MSc (Study Evidence-Based Health Care) at Oxford University, the UK in 2009. He was appointed as Associate Professor (Priv. Doz.) at Charite University, Berlin, Germany, in 2005 and at UAE University, Al Ain, UAE, in 2009. Before practicing in the UAE, he worked in various hospitals in Germany, including the Urology and Surgery Clinic of Berlin, the Institute for Molecular Biology and Biochemistry, Free University, University Hospital Benjamin Franklin, Free University, and Campus Virchow-Klinikum, University Hospital of Charite University Medicine. To his credit, Prof. Dr. Abou-Rebyeh has authored 34 original publications, released 28 peer-reviewed papers in international medical journals, written six book chapters, and given more than 200 international congress presentations. He is also a reviewer for international medical journals on endoscopy and the gut. His field of interest includes gastroenterology, endoscopy, and hepatology, and his clinical and scientific specializations in interventional endoscopy include gastroscopy, enteroscopy, colonoscopy, ERCP, PTC, video capsule, cholangioscopy, and endoscopic ultrasound.
