The Neonatology Department at Burjeel Hospital, Abu Dhabi, provides world-class care for critically ill and premature babies. The Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is equipped with a 21-bed unit of 13 Intensive care cots and 8 Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) cots for providing specialist care for infants from as early as 26 weeks gestation. The specialized Neonatal Transport Service enables the immediate transfer of unstable patients straight to the care of our specialists if needed. Our Neonatal Surgeons perform complicated surgeries on these tiny babies. They provide life-saving intraoperative support, including resuscitation and other procedures. In addition to stabilizing the baby, they also evaluate the health of the baby and its organs.
