Biography
Dr. Omniyat completed her M.B., B.C.H., BAO, L.R.C.P.S. & NUI Obtained from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in May 1999 (where she was placed first in 160 medical students). She then attained the Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (I.R.E.) in 2001. She has also acquired an M.P.H. in Health Care Management, Public Health, and Leadership from the Bloomberg School of Public Health – John Hopkins University, the U.S., in 2011. Dr. Omniyat is also currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Healthcare Policy and Management from the same institution. Dr. Omniyat has practiced in various key institutions worldwide and the U.A.E. She started her career in the Beaumont Hospital, Ireland, where she practiced till 2001. She then moved to a key government referral hospital in Abu Dhabi, where she practiced initially as a Specialist Endocrinology and now as a Consultant Endocrinology. Dr. Omniyat has extensive experience of more than 15 years in her field. She has extensive leadership training from John Hopkins and Abu Dhabi Government leadership featuring coaches from Harvard, I.N.S.E.A.D., Oxford Business School, and Cambridge Leadership Associates. Dr. Omniyat is also a co-author of a book on Surgery and Model Awareness for medical students, used extensively at the Royal College of Surgeons, Ireland, from the year 2000. She has keen research interest and has initiated numerous research projects. She has also contributed extensively to the cause of public health, patient education, health promotion, health policy, regulations, and human resources and recruitment. Dr. Omniyat has also been a volunteer and participated in several community health and C.S.R. initiatives.
