Biography

Dr. Matlik is a Senior Consultant in Pediatrics and Pediatric Neurology at Burjeel Royal Hospital, Al Ain. Before joining Burjeel Hospital, he worked at Tawam Hospital as a consultant in pediatric neurology. In 1981, he earned a Bachelor of Medicine (MBCHB) from Mosul University in Iraq. He then earned his Diploma in Child Health in 1993 and his Arab Board of Pediatrics certification in 1994. In 2003, he became a Member of the Royal College of Pediatric and Child Health in the United Kingdom. In 2015, Dr. Matlik received a Fellowship (FRCPCH) from the Royal College of Pediatric and Child Health in the United Kingdom. Additionally, he holds certifications in General Pediatrics Training (2011), (CESR), and the United Kingdom. He became a Member of the British Pediatric Neurology Association in 2012 and is a Member of the European Training Advisory Board in Pediatric Neurology (U.K.). Dr. Matlik has over 30 years of experience in his field, specializing in EEG reporting, epilepsy management, spasticity management, headache management, and migraine management. He has authored numerous articles that have been published in prestigious international journals. He is an examiner for the Royal College of Pediatrics and Child Health’s MRCPCH examination. He has academic experience as a lecturer at medical colleges at Baghdad University in 1998 and as a faculty member at the College of Medicine and Health Sciences at the University of Al Ain, UAE.
