Biography

Dr. Shamaila Masood-Husain graduated from Imperial College London and has more than 18 years of experience as a clinician, educator, and healthcare leader. She is a Member of the Royal College of General Practitioners, UK. She also holds a Diploma from the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (UK).

Before moving to Al Ain, she was the Lead Family Medicine Consultant for a busy inner-city medical practice in London, UK. As the Lead Clinician, she managed and led all aspects of a busy primary care center’s day-to-day functioning to achieve excellence in providing quality healthcare to the community. She has worked in many specialties as part of her training, including General Medicine, Pediatrics, Geriatrics, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Psychiatry, General Surgery, and Emergency Medicine. She was the Clinical Leader for a London-based Clinical Commissioning group and was instrumental in improving many local services to improve patient care. She has also been an Educational and Support Tutor for the Royal College of General Practitioners. Dr. Shamaila Masood-Husain has a holistic approach to healthcare and believes communication to be paramount when dealing with both physical and psychological aspects of patient care.
