Biography

As a learned Neuroscience specialist with more than 15 years of experience in the subject, Dr. Arif is a British Board-certified Consultant in Pediatric Neurology. Dr. Arif is also credited with the founding and establishing the reputed Comprehensive Children’s Neuroscience Centre, ‘Neuropedia,’ the first of its kind medical center in the UAE. Earlier in his career, Dr. Arif Khan had a successful stint as Lead Clinician for Complex Epilepsies & Ketogenic Diet in the UK before joining as Adjunct Associate Professor at the Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences (MBRU), Dubai, UAE. He has also served as an international Tutor for Pediatric Epilepsy Training in Medical Schools and as an Examiner for the MRCPH Clinical Examination. Dr. Arif Khan is a highly specialized Consultant Pediatric Neurologist who is an expert in handling complex cases of childhood epilepsy, headaches, migraines, sleep disorders, neuro-muscular conditions, movement disorders, neonatal neurology, cerebrovascular stroke, cerebral palsy, neuro-metabolic conditions, neuro-genetic conditions, neuro-behavioral conditions, Autism and ADHD. In addition, he intrinsically handles cases of vagal nerve stimulation and ketogenic diet for children with refractory epilepsy. He carries out specialized investigations such as 24-hr video EEG monitoring, Pediatric NCS and EMG, VEPs, and ABRs, to name a few. After completing his initial 15 years as a clinician in the UK, Dr. Arif moved to UAE in 2015. An avid writer, Dr. Arif Khan, has authored more than 40 peer-reviewed articles on the subject and has written and published a book titled ‘Pediatrics – A Clinical Handbook.’
