Biography
Dr. Raoof graduated from Mosul Medical College in Iraq. He moved to the United Kingdom to attend the University of London. He earned a Ph.D. in Clinical Pharmacology from the St. Bartholomew’s Hospital Medical School of the University of London. He then began training in anesthesia at various teaching and specialist institutions in London, United Kingdom. In the United Kingdom, he was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal College of Anesthetists (FRCA). He was appointed as a Consultant Anesthetist in the United Kingdom before moving to Dubai to work as a Consultant Anaesthetist at the American Hospital Dubai. Before joining BHAS in January 2016 as Chief Medical Officer and Chief of Anesthesia, he worked at the American Hospital Dubai in various clinical and administrative positions, including Chief of Anesthesia, Assistant Medical Director, and Chief Medical Officer. Dr. Raoof is a Clinical Anesthesiologist with over 25 years of experience in anesthesia, pain management, and intensive care. His areas of expertise include patient safety in anesthesia, obstetric anesthesia, and acute pain management.
