Biography

Dr. Abdullahi Farah Asseyr, MD, is a Consultant Pediatrician and Neonatologist at Burjeel Specialty Hospital in Sharjah. He graduated from Rome University “La Sapienza” with a degree in General Pediatrics and Neonatology and completed a Pediatric Allergy Fellowship at Linkoping University Hospital in Sweden. He has extensive experience in General Pediatrics and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. He previously worked at Rome University Hospital, King Fahad Specialist Hospital in Buraidah-Qassim, Saudi Arabia, and Dubai Hospital and Al Kuwait Hospital in Dubai. Mogadishu, Somalia: Arafat Specialist Hospital. He completed clinical attachments at Howard University Hospital in the United States of America and Linkoping University Hospital in Sweden. He also spent 12 years as an adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates. He conducted DOOCE, OSCE, PBL, and BST exams. He possesses extraordinary abilities in managing sick newborns, extremely low birth weights, various modes of mechanical ventilation, all neonatal procedures, and early infant feeding, including TPN and PICU general management. He has numerous articles published in prestigious international medical and non-medical journals. He has been a keynote speaker at international and national medical conferences and has chaired several. He trained numerous BLS, NRP, PALS, and NLS for senior doctors in Africa, medical staff, and medical students. His clinical expertise includes but is not limited to the following:

• Clinical mentor management in general Pediatrics & Neonatology for inpatient and outpatient as well as critical care medicine such as NICU and PICU
• Newborn resuscitation expertise in different gestational age groups for extremely low birth weight, extremely low birth weight, late preterm, full-term, and postmature neonatal management and procedures
• Assessment for newborn follow up for feeding, growth & development, and vaccination schedule
• Management of respiratory diseases, cardiac, gastrointestinal, renal diseases, hematological disorders and metabolic diseases, pediatric allergic diseases, and skin
• Pediatric neurology diseases, congenital anomalies, and chronic illness in pediatric age groups
