Biography
Dr. Salim Z Asaad has extensive experience of more than 20 years and specializes in evaluating and treating all kinds of Retinal diseases and Cataracts. He is a highly accomplished Vitreo-Retinal and Phaco Surgeon and has performed more than 10,000 surgeries during his career. Before joining Burjeel Hospital, Dr. Asaad worked as Consultant Vitreo-Retinal Diseases at an established specialized eye hospital in Abu Dhabi. Before moving to the UAE, he was Consultant and Head, Retina-Vitreous Services, Vasan Eye Hospitals Delhi-NCR, and Chief Medical Officer, Greater Kailash, New Delhi. He was involved in the training of DNB residents in Ophthalmology during his stint at Venu Eye Institute and Research Centre, New Delhi, India. Dr. Salim Z Asaad has authored several publications in peer-reviewed journals and is regularly invited to speak at international/national conferences. He is a member of the European Society of Retina Specialists, the Vitreo-Retinal Society of India, Emirates Society of Ophthalmology, and All India Ophthalmological Society.
