He established the Kypros Nicolaides Fetal Medicine centre at Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust, Southend Hospital in 2014.As Director of fetal medicine centre he trained several fellows and trainees from East of England deanery, Cambridge. He has participated in several randomised controlled studies and has publications in high impact factor journals. Mandeep has also been an accomplished leader in healthcare and has held several management positions in the UK. He was appointed as Clinical lead in 2016, Clinical Director in 2017, Group Clinical Director in 2019 and as Medical Director for Women’s & Children in 2019. He has experience in working with Quality improvement teams, regulators such as Care Quality commissions (CQC) and management agencies during his tenure. Dr Iviano gained his MBBS qualification in medicine from Nigeria and pursued higher studies with specialized training in advanced areas of neonatology in the UK. He commenced his consultant career focusing on congenital heart disease, respiratory, nutrition and developmental /family centred care of the new-born. Over the 20 years of his consultant career, he has worked consistently in the industry’s largest multi-disciplinary, tertiary hospital environments and led teams of specialists attending to sensitive pediatric cases and babies of 23 weeks and above with medical and surgical complications. He has extensive experience with multidisciplinary engagement across a wide range of perinatal and pediatric specialties including neonatal surgery, cardiology, gastroenterology, neurology, neurosurgery, and ophthalmology. Taking up his position as Director of Neonatology Services for Burjeel Holdings, UAE and Consultant in Neonatal Medicine at Burjeel Medical City Abu Dhabi, Dr. Iviano brings valuable expertise and experience of managing perinatal networks and Level-3 neonatal unit. As Lead Consultant for the Nutrition Team, he also put in place guidelines for consultants, nurses, and pharmacists in the neonatal unit, to ensure standardized, evidence based nutritional practice within the department.
